Something to Think About

2015 is almost upon us, and I have been thinking about writing on this this platform, and  what I might want to say going into the New Year. And, I came up blank. Like many of you, I have decisions to make, and until they are made and I have gone forward with them, they aren’t suitable for a public forum. Which, has left me in a writing slump.

With this in mind, I came across this article on the internet, and recommend it to you now.

I encourage all of us to carefully consider the ways in which we view and treat one another in 2015. The greatest commandment is that we love the Lord our God and the second is that we love our neighbour as ourselves. As ourselves. My guess is there is room for improvement in each of us on this one.

God bless all of you going into the New Year! Thanks for reading – we at Talitha Koum are excited for what the new year will bring.

Scripture of the Day Isaiah 2

Isaiah 2

Climb God’s Mountain

2 1 – 5 The Message Isaiah got regarding Judah and Jerusalem:

There’s a day coming
when the mountain of God’s House
Will be The Mountain-
solid, towering over all mountains.
All nations will river toward it,
people from all over set out for it.
They’ll say, “Come,
let’s climb God’s Mountain,
go to the House of the God of Jacob.
He’ll show us the way he works
so we can live the way we’re made.”
Zion’s the source of the revelation.
God’s Message comes from Jerusalem.
He’ll settle things fairly between nations.
He’ll make things right between many peoples.
They’ll turn their swords into shovels,
their spears into hoes.
No more will nation fight nation;
they won’t play war anymore.
Come, family of Jacob,
let’s live in the light of God

The Message (MSG)

Standing on the Edge of Forever.

Some days it is hard to beat the Message for its poetry. “All nations will river toward it.” How beautifully evocative is that one phrase?

“He’ll show us the way he works so we can live the way we’re made.”

What could be better?
